Day 1: Windhoek

Arrival in Windhoek and collection of rental vehicle.

Capital city, arrival and departure point, centre of the Namibian economy and a colourful mix of cultures - all this and much more is Windhoek. With approximately 480.000 inhabitants Windhoek is by far the biggest city in Namibia, but still a relaxed atmosphere can be noted, which is so typical for Africa. Even though the city is relatively small in comparison to other capital cities, it offers a large variety of shopping centres, restaurants, hotels and Bed & Breakfast. Due to the central location in the country, it is also the ideal starting and end point for tours through Namibia.

Overnight at Hotel Thule incl. breakfast.

Day 2: Otjiwa

Drive from Windhoek to Otjiwa Private Nature Reserve.

Otjiwa’s vast 12,000 hectare expanse of bushveld conceals a treasure trove of African wildlife boasting some 25 free-roaming game species, including one of the country’s largest herds of Sable Antelope and a number of precious White Rhinoceros, both of which offer guests excellent chances of outstanding sightings. Roan Antelope and big herds of plains game are also frequently spotted. Otjiwa is also renowned for its beautiful dams (artificial lakes) which are home to a rich variety of bird life, chief amongst which must be the majestic African Fish Eagle whose chilling shriek is often heard long before the bird is seen.

Overnight at Otjiwa Safari Lodge incl. dinner and breakfast.

Days 3 & 4: Eastern Etosha

Drive from Otjiwa to the easterns side of Etosha National Park.

The eastern part of the Etosha National Park is reached through the Von Lindequist Gate. The mostly open plains surrounding Fishers Pan and the Andoni Plain offer ideal game viewing possibilities through-out most parts of the year. At the natural fountains Klein Namutoni and Chudop one can regularly see a large variety of different animals at the same time. Fort Namutoni, which used to be a police station, is also worth a visit. Here you can enjoy a relaxed lunch break in the small restaurant or at the pool in the Namutoni restcamp.

Overnight at Mushara Bush Camp incl. dinner and breakfast.

Day 5: Kavango Region

Drive from the Etosha National Park to the Kavango Region.

The Kavango Region in the north of Namibia shows a complete contrast in landscape to the rest of Namibia. Due to the Okavango River this region is noticably more tropical than the remainder of the country, with lush forrests and permanently flowing water. Especially along the banks of the river one can find numerous small villages with grass and clay huts, which are so typical for Africa. Here the people still live a very rural life, mostly being small farmers attending to their crops in the furtile soil. The small village of Rundu on the banks of the Okavango River is the gateway for further travels to the Caprivi Strip.

Overnight at Hakusembe River Lodge incl. dinner and breakfast.

Days 6 & 7: Mahango National Park

Drive from Rundu to the Mahango National Park.

The Mahango National Park is one of the smallest game reserves in Namibia. But even though it is small in size, it boasts a large variety of different animal species. On the banks of the Okavango River, along which the park is situated, and on the open swamp plains large Elefant and Buffalo herds can be seen. Also Hippos and the very rare Roan Antelopes can be found in the park, next to most of the common other antelope species. Only a few kilometers upstream are the Popa Falls rapids, which are also well worth a visit.

Overnight at Shametu River Lodge incl. dinner and breakfast.

Days 8 & 9: Kwando

Drive the Mahango National Park to the Kwando River.

The Kwando River flows from Angola to Namibia and is the natural border to Botswna at the southern most tip of the Caprivi Strip. From here onwards the river is also named Chobe. In Namibia there are national parks on both the western and eastern side of the Kwando, which are home to a large variety of animals. Large elephant herds, antelopes, hippos and buffaloes can be seen in the dense forests and along the many waterways of the Kwanda in nearly every season of the year. The lodges in area offer boat cruises and game drives in open vehicles. The Kwando area is also a paradise for bird watchers.

Overnight at Namushasha River Lodge - incl. dinner and breakfast.

Day 10: Ngoma (Namibia/Botswana Border)

Drive from the Kwando to Ngoma, where the border post between Namibian and Botswana is located. You will drop your rental vehicle off at the lodge after arrival.

Gaze over the flood plains and enjoy the solitude on the banks of the Chobe River. Assuring extraordinary experiences, Chobe River Camp only has 20 tented chalets. The lodge was inspired by the natural beauty of the landscape and all chalets have been constructed using indigenous Mopane timber and canvas. The region in which the Chobe River Camp is located is renowned for spectacular wildlife and is considered a wildlife and birder's dream. It also boasts one of the largest annual Zebra migrations in Africa.

Overnight at Chobe River Camp incl. dinner and breakfast.

Days 11 & 12: Chobe National Park

You will be transferred over the border into Botswana and driven to the small town of Kasana on the banks of the Chobe River.

A visit to the Chobe National Park is surely one of the most fascinating wildlife experiences Africa has to offer. The park is located between the Linyanti River, the Chobe River and the mighty Zambezi River and is known for it's tremendous amount of wildlife. Especially large Elefant herds can be seen in the swampy plains, along the river banks or in the forrests of the park. Also Hippos and Buffaloes live here in large numbers. The park can be explored along the sandy tracks or by boat along the many waterways.

Overnight at Chobe Safari Lodge Lodge incl. dinner, breakfast and wildlife activities.

Day 13 & 14: Victoria Falls

You will be transferred over the border into Zimabwe and driven to the small town of Victoria Falls.

The Victoria Falls are without question one of the most spectacular sights in the whole Southern African region. With a width of nearly 2 km the Zambezi river pluments down into an approx. 110 m deep gorge. The falls are also referred to by the locals as "mosi oa tunya", the "smoke that thunders". The full front of the falls can be enjoyed along walking trails from the Zimbabwe side. The Zambia side has amongst other white water rafting tours on offer. A special highlight is a helicopter flight over the falls.

Overnight at Ilala Lodge incl. breakfast.

Day 15: End of Tour

You will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
